Smart outdoor camera that is also a hub

The Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro (PoE) is more than just a security camera – it is also an outdoor-capable smart home hub. With support for Zigbee and Thread, it can connect Aqara devices and act as a bridge into Matter ecosystems, making it easier to consolidate and control smart products in a single home.

The G5 Pro has a built-in Thread Border Router and can be used as a Matter controller for Aqara and third-party devices, as well as a Matter bridge for Aqara Zigbee devices. It is compatible with several platforms, including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey.

Local AI – both image and sound

The camera is locally hosted and features a built-in NPU that enables the simultaneous use of 7‑in‑1 Visual AI and 4‑in‑1 Audio AI. It can recognize faces, individual vehicles, people, and animals, as well as detect loitering, lens obstruction, and delivered packages (package detection refers to stationary packages). You can use these events to trigger notifications, start recording, or activate camera features.

Sharp image – even in the dark

The G5 Pro delivers 4MP/2.6K (Quad HD 2688×1520) and has a 133° field of view (diagonal). The large light-gathering f/1.0 aperture in combination with a graphene-cooled 1/1.8” sensor provides True Full Color Night Vision for clearer details at night. The built-in spotlight can also be used in security automations.

Privacy and secure storage

Privacy is a clear part of the G5 Pro. It is compatible with HomeKit Secure Video and features encrypted local eMMC storage. Furthermore, it supports end-to-end encryption for video footage sent to both Apple and Aqara clouds (when these services are used), for increased data security.

PoE for stability – made for outdoor use

The PoE version uses an Ethernet port for both data and power (PoE), providing a stable and reliable connection. USB‑C can be used as an alternative power source. The camera is built to withstand harsh conditions with IP65 dust and water protection and operates in temperatures from -30°C to +50°C, so you can monitor year-round.

Network streaming and flexible storage

For those who want to build a more advanced system, the G5 Pro supports RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) for local video streaming to, for example, video server software like Frigate and Blue Iris. It also has SMB NAS support for expanded local storage options. For added flexibility, the camera can also stream to smart displays and TVs from Alexa, Google, and Samsung.

Easy mounting in many positions

The rotatable base allows you to mount the camera on a flat surface, wall, or ceiling. The mount can also be replaced with a 1/4” screw for alternative mounting solutions.
