The smart home hub that brings everything together

The Aqara Hub M3 is an all-in-one hub built to connect your smart home with stable connectivity and broad compatibility. It supports Aqara Zigbee devices, acts as a Matter bridge, and integrates Aqara Thread devices. Additionally, it can connect select third-party devices and consolidate them in the Aqara Home app (support is currently limited to specific device types).

Matter bridge and multi-platform compatibility

As a Matter bridge, the Hub M3 is designed to facilitate interoperability between different ecosystems. It can expose Aqara Zigbee devices to Matter and apps such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey. Please note that available features may vary depending on the respective Matter platform/app.

The hub can manage up to 127 Thread/Zigbee devices (repeaters may be needed to reach the maximum number).

Edge functions: more local, more stable

The Hub M3 is an Edge Hub with a focus on direct local control and automation. When integrated into your network, it can take over as the "lead" hub in an Aqara installation and migrate automations to local operation between hubs. Some features, such as cloud-based push notifications, still require a cloud connection to function.

IR control with feedback – and smarter AC control

The built-in 360° IR blaster can both send commands and detect when a traditional remote control is used, which can provide more accurate status updates. With smart learning, it can control many IR-compatible products. The hub can also connect IR-controlled air conditioners to Matter and act as an AC thermostat when paired with an Aqara Climate Sensor.

Important: The IR frequency is 38 kHz. Only one AC unit can be exposed to Matter, and functionality may vary between different apps.

Connectivity: wired and wireless

For flexible installation, the Hub M3 offers both dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4–5 GHz) with WPA3 security and Power over Ethernet (PoE). It also features USB-C, making it possible to connect a mini-UPS or power bank for extra operational reliability.

Privacy-focused and encrypted storage

The Hub M3 lacks a microphone and camera, which reduces privacy-related concerns. It features local storage with end-to-end encryption and 8 GB of eMMC storage. The local storage is used for device lists, configuration parameters, and automation data (more data types may be supported via future software updates).

Speaker and custom signals

The built-in speaker of up to 95 dB can be used as an Aqara Home alarm siren or for announcements. You can also use custom ringtones in automations, even without an internet connection.

Easy installation and flexible placement

The Hub M3 comes with a bracket, screws, and adhesive for placement on flat surfaces or mounting on walls/ceilings. Once powered on, MagicPair helps it get automatically discovered in the Aqara Home app.

Migration from older Aqara hubs

For those already using Aqara, the Hub M3 can simplify upgrades through hub migration and data transfer, allowing you to switch hubs without manually reconnecting devices. Note that some hubs (e.g., Camera Hub G2H and Aqara Hub) do not currently support this feature.
